If your River Oaks garage holds more than one car worth protecting, say a daily SUV, a sedan for the week and something special for the weekend, ceramic coating makes sense. But not every car needs the same package, and how the coating is applied and maintained matters as much as which one you choose. This guide explains how we approach coating for River Oaks owners, at your home.
Detailing and coating in River Oaks
We work at River Oaks homes in the driveway, the motor court or the garage, and in condo-tower garages along Westheimer when the building approves. Recent Azul work in the neighborhood includes a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, a Bentley Flying Spur, a Mercedes-AMG G 63, an Audi S8, a Range Rover Sport and a Porsche Macan, as well as a Jeep Wrangler. You can see those photos, and reviews from River Oaks clients, on our River Oaks service page.
We bring our own water, power and lighting, so your hose and outlets are helpful but generally not required. River Oaks Property Owners, Inc. administers the neighborhood's deed restrictions and runs private security. If your street or building has requirements for service providers, tell us when you book, and we'll work within them.
Match the package to the car, not the household
Azul offers three ceramic coating packages. All three include the same preparation; they differ in which surfaces are coated and how long the coating is designed to last. Prices are starting prices, before applicable tax.
- 3-Year Ceramic Coating, from $895. Paint, exterior trim, headlights and taillights. Exterior glass and wheel faces can be added from $149 each. For multi-year protection on paint, trim and lights.
- 5-Year Ceramic Coating, from $1,099. The same surfaces, plus exterior glass and wheel faces coated as standard.
- 8-Year Ceramic Coating, from $1,345. The same coated surfaces as the 5-Year, with our longest-lasting paint coating. For a car you plan to keep for years.
On the 5-Year and 8-Year, a graphene-enhanced layer, the Graphene Performance Stack, can be added over the base coating from $299, for more slickness, added gloss, better water behavior and improved water-spot resistance. The warranty years don't add together: a 5-Year with the Stack is still a 5-Year warranty.
In practice, many households don't need the same package on every car. A garage-kept weekend car and a daily-driven SUV live different lives, and the photo assessment is where we recommend a package for each one.
Preparation is most of the job
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. So before any coating goes on, every package includes a thorough wash, chemical decontamination, mechanical decontamination when needed, a paint inspection, paint-thickness measurements and a Paint Enhancement polish for gloss and clarity.
If swirls or scratches bother you, paint correction can replace the included polish, so you don't pay for both: One-Step from +$249, Two-Stage from +$449, and Multi-Stage by custom quote. No correction level promises a fixed percentage of defect removal. Deep scratches, rock chips and defects through the clear coat may not be safely removable, and we'll tell you before we start.
Where and how we apply it
Coating is not a quick service. An appointment usually takes about 6 to 10 or more hours on site for one vehicle, depending on its size, paint condition, package and any correction, and it's scheduled earlier in the day. For more than one car, we'll plan the dates with you.
- Your garage, motor court or driveway. We bring canopy, shade and airflow when needed. Covered garages need adequate ventilation and clearance.
- Condo towers. We can work in a building's garage when management gives permission and there's enough clearance and ventilation. Please check with them first.
- Weather. We'll reschedule for rain, excessive wind, dust, unsafe surface temperatures or anything that would compromise application or curing, and your full deposit moves to the new date.
What a coating will and won't do
Expect deeper gloss, strong water beading, easier washing and resistance to many chemicals and contaminants. River Oaks was planned around oak-lined boulevards, and cars parked under those trees collect pollen and residue; a coated car is simply easier to wash clean.
A coating won't make paint scratch-proof or chip-proof, won't remove existing swirls or scratches, and won't replace regular, correct washing. If rock chips on the highway are your main concern, that's the job of paint protection film on the impact areas, which Azul doesn't install at the moment. Film and coating can be combined, but film needs a coating made for film; if a car already has film, mention it in your assessment. For more, see our guide to ceramic coating or PPF.
Keeping several coated cars maintained
Coating warranties depend on maintenance. Azul's coating comes with a written Azul warranty matched to your package term (3, 5 or 8 years), with full terms on your warranty card. It applies to coated exterior painted surfaces, and coverage depends on documented coating maintenance at least every 6 months, by Azul or another qualified detailer. Keep the dated invoice or report from each visit.
The simplest way to keep that record across several cars is the Azul Car Club, which includes coating-safe maintenance visits every 4, 6 or 8 weeks, from $129 per visit.
Request a coating assessment
Start with photos. Fill in our short coating assessment form, then text 4–6 photos of each car to 713-386-9945: front and rear three-quarter views, plus close-ups of any swirls, scratches or water spots in good light. We'll recommend a package for each vehicle and send your quote before anything is booked. The assessment is free, with no obligation.
